Peter Freeman was born in Surrey, England. He attended Sutton School of Art from 1948-51 and studied at the Royal College of Art 1953-56 and is an Associate of the College. In 1957-58 he worked in conjunction with the Chelsea Pottery and painted in Spain. He came to Australia in 1958 and held exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. From 1972 to 1989 he was Head of Art at Xavier College, Melbourne.
